Description¶
The dynamic model of educational effectiveness (Creemers & Kyriakides, 2008) defines classroom factors found to be associated with student outcomes, such as orientation, structuring, modelling, application tasks, questioning, and assessment. In this study, "the classroom factors of the dynamic model were used in developing a teacher improvement program in the second intervention," delivered through a booklet, a one-day workshop, and six half-day monthly meetings. The authors frame this as an integration of Educational Effectiveness Research findings with improvement initiatives.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- EER findings are used to determine the direction of improvement, requiring translation of research factors into concrete program materials and meetings
Constraints¶
- The authors state that developing improvement measures is not as easy as identifying factors that work for education and applying them, and the integration proved complex
Target Learners¶
- junior secondary students (ages 12/13 to 14/15) in Indonesian madrasahs
Learning Goals¶
- English reading comprehension achievement
- teaching quality in English lessons
Claims¶
- Teaching Quality Improved First Half Only [+M]
- Standards Plus Teacher Program Improves Achievement [+M]
