Description¶
ELBRCS is a reading comprehension strategy for narrative texts that combines cognitive and affective strategies, conducted orally and in written form. Cognitive aspects are stimulated by facilitator-guided questions aimed at deep comprehension, while affective aspects are generated by encouraging students to focus on the beauty of plots and share feelings triggered by the text. The article grounds it in Constructivism, stressing students as "meaning builder", and in EQ Theory linking emotion to cognitive meaning making.
