Description¶
FCPS is the comparison condition in this study: it is "the same as the PF condition except that students received instructional facilitation throughout their lessons." It serves as the design component that isolates the role of unguided exploration in productive failure, since it holds the complex group problem solving constant while removing the initial period without facilitation.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Complex problems solved in small groups
- Instructional facilitation provided throughout the lessons
Constraints¶
Target Learners¶
