Description¶
The article implements Grenfell and Harris's (1999) model of strategy instruction as the pedagogical framework for teaching prewriting strategies in all three experimental conditions. The model proceeds through an ordered sequence of steps: "awareness raising, modeling, general practice, action planning, focused practice, and evaluation". It was delivered in class for the conventional group, online for the web-based group, and both in class and online for the hybrid group, over five sessions with one strategy per session.
