Description

The battery used for 1916 medical school applicants comprised an omnibus test "fashioned after the one reported by Scott," arranged in triplicate to prevent communication between groups tested on different days, and sets of the Thorndike Improved Scale for Reading Ability, Scale Alpha 2. Both tests were given at one sitting, scored for rate and quality, with each omnibus error penalized by adding ten seconds to raw time to give a weighted time. The article states the two tests occupied two examiners for not to exceed one and one-half hours and that a hundred applicants may be examined at a sitting.
