Description¶
The intervention scaffolded strategy learning in three stages: "I do it, in which the teacher models the strategy by thinking aloud for students", a We do it stage of cooperative group practice with teacher support, and a You do it stage in which students apply strategies more independently with supportive scaffolding. This operationalised the principle that the teacher gradually removes supports so students can practice independently, within the Scaffolding Reading Experience planning and implementation phases.
