Description¶
A circling classroom sequence appended to the article (Appendix 4, Figure 1) consisting of "four classroom teaching activities with three teaching approaches which are the grammar-translation, the cooperative learning (the Tic Tae Toe game), and the communicative approaches, as well as four practices/tests". Teaching of active and passive tenses is divided into two sections to avoid confusing learners, and the mode interchanges teaching with practice/test so users may take a second round. It integrates reading, listening, speaking, and writing practice.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Sufficient practice opportunities such as form recognition, gap filling, sentence building, and essay writing
- A communicative teaching approach added to the presentation process if teachers value communicative grammar learning
Constraints¶
- Active and passive tenses are taught in separate sessions due to the complexity and variety of the tenses
Target Learners¶
- EFL college freshmen
Learning Goals¶
- mastering English tense-aspect forms across the four language skills
