Description¶
The professional development element at CHS consisted of two, two-week summer workshops conducted by expert modelers using the Arizona State University curriculum, in which teachers were immersed in the methodology, taking on the roles of student and teacher while conducting paradigm labs. Support for fidelity included weekly teacher meetings, pairs of teachers in each subject meeting minimally 70 minutes each week, and three observations per year by the department chair and an administrator with written feedback.
