Description¶
Project MSSELL (DRL-0822343) provided treatment teachers ongoing bi-weekly, 90-minute, face-to-face professional learning sessions for one year, covering upcoming lessons and ESL strategies in researcher-developed, scripted lessons. Students received "85 minutes of daily literacy-infused science instruction" following a highly-structured curriculum aligned to state and national science and reading standards, embedding expository text features, pre-taught academic vocabulary, pronunciation and decoding, hands-on 5E activities, questioning, scaffolding, cooperative grouping, and technology integration.
