Description¶
The article presents a classification of blended learning proposed by NIIT (as cited in Valiathan, 2002) concerning institutions and organizations. It distinguishes three models: a "Skill-Driven Model" used to learn skills via web-based courses covering e-mail groups, discussion forums, face-to-face interviews and self-learning; an "Attitude-Driven Model" for developing behaviors through peer learning via online meetings and group work; and a "Competency-Driven Model" for gaining implicit knowledge by observing an expert with mentorship and LMS support. The pilot study's blended design is identified as the skill-driven model.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶

Target Learners¶
- undergraduate students
Learning Goals¶
- acquiring skills such as writing SQL statements via blended instruction
