Description¶
NIMIS (Networked Interactive Media in Schools, 1998–2000) was a ubiquitous computing classroom featuring a large interactive display and pen-based tablets at student desks, targeting early learning in the first years of primary school. Installations existed in Germany, Portugal and the UK with different curricular orientations. The German environment supported initial reading and writing skills based on the "reading through writing" approach, with an action log recording learner activity.
