Description

The Wellness Center, funded by the district and the Oakland Fund for Children and Youth, provides "a centralized infrastructure, dedicated staff, and a structured process for services and referrals." It houses two case managers, a dean of culture and community, an academic counselor who is also a clinical therapist, and college and career resources. Its staff meet weekly as the Coordination of Services Team (COST) to identify students newly in need of support and update on previously identified students; since spring 2021 students can refer themselves via QR code, and the community school manager reports that "direct services are getting to students quicker."
