Description

Each intervention lesson was divided into three main stages — "Preparation, Performance, reflection" — each with an explanation sub-stage where the instructor explicitly teaches and models strategies, and an application sub-stage where students practice them. In preparation, students set goals, generate and organize ideas, and seek help; in performance, small groups of five discuss the topic while the instructor circulates; in reflection, students use reflective journals and evaluation checklists. The pattern embeds self-regulated strategy training directly into content-based speaking lessons.
