Description

Reciprocal peer teaching is an instructional strategy for cooperative learning in which students take turns being the teacher and the student, exchanging roles to explain their understanding of the learning content. The article describes a model with "four continuous steps: predicting, questioning, clarifying, and summarizing", supported by scaffolding, and implemented with students in groups of about four to six. Its theoretical framework is Vygotsky's zone of proximal development and social construction activities such as dialog, scaffolding, and learning review.
