Description¶
The scenery generator instantiates scenarios as parameterized learning fields with spatial structure, participant roles, resources, communication channels, schedules, norms, and evaluation expectations. The paper states that "scenery is not a decorative background. It is a parameterized object that constrains observation, action, and interpretation." Predefined templates (traditional, open small-group, online) carry default interaction-graph priors; informal scenery models recess conversation and peer gossip with weaker institutional scripts; an evolutionary pipeline is planned for counterfactual scenario generation.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Scenario templates specifying interaction-graph priors that initialize, but do not fix, probabilities
- informal scenes tracking topic formation, joining, withdrawal, emotional tone, and relationship change
Constraints¶
- The evolutionary scenery pipeline is planned, not completed; institutional and policy-level uses are positioned as extensions
Target Learners¶
- Students and teachers in formal classrooms, online spaces, and informal school settings
Learning Goals¶
- Participation and peer exchange shaped by spatial and normative affordances
- classroom climate and belonging
