5E+IA instructional model with Concrete-Representational-Abstract progression¶
Design · All designs
Evidence · no claims cited
Description¶
The program's organizing instructional pattern is the 5E+IA model: "Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate, plus Intervention and Acceleration pathways." It structures whole-group instruction, small-group differentiation, and blended learning, and follows a "Concrete-Representational-Abstract progression" that sequences mathematical representations from concrete materials to abstract symbols, with digital tools such as virtual manipulatives and PhET simulations integrated.
