Description¶
The RG-UClass model organizes teaching into three stages: pre-class online preview and testing, in-class combination of online lecturing and offline interactive discussion, and post-class online assignments, feedback, and discussion. The article describes this as an "online independent learning" plus "offline flipped classroom" model that eliminates time and space restrictions of traditional education to achieve complementary advantages, shifting students from passive to active learning and from shallow to deep knowledge acquisition.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- A smart platform supporting pre-class material delivery, in-class interaction, and post-class assignment and feedback workflows
Constraints¶
- The integrated model makes it impossible to separate the independent effect of any single teaching format, resulting in confounding effects
Target Learners¶
- undergraduate medical students
Learning Goals¶
- active learning
- deep learning strategies
- knowledge application
