Description

Each Reading Success Academy small-group session was organized around a focus lesson, mini-lesson, and instructional passage, and followed "the three reading stages of pre, during, and post -reading strategies." All students completed the required pre-reading, during reading, and post-reading activities for each lesson. Pre-reading strategies included predicting content, anticipation guides, previewing text features, and setting a purpose for reading; post-reading strategies had students revisit predictions, analyze or evaluate the passage, and build upon key ideas.
