Description¶
A three-tiered instructional pattern in which gynecologists are stratified into junior, intermediate and senior cohorts and progress through pre-course online theory, simulator and VR drills, ex vivo porcine organ modules, and perfused organ systems. The program used "hierarchical skill progression" from foundational techniques through intermediate procedures to advanced operations, with participants completing at least two procedural rehearsals per complexity tier until meeting predefined proficiency standards.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Proficiency-based stratification of trainees into junior, intermediate and senior cohorts
- Mandatory online didactic completion before hands-on training
- At least two procedural rehearsals per complexity tier until meeting predefined proficiency standards
Constraints¶
- The multi-modal design precludes isolation of each component's contribution; improvements are attributed to the bundled intervention
Target Learners¶
- Gynecologists across proficiency levels, from residents to senior consultants
Learning Goals¶
- Laparoscopic surgical skills including hand–eye coordination, bimanual dexterity, energy device use, and suturing and knot-tying
Claims¶
- Level Stratified Training Modality Preferences [+M]
- Objective Task Time Reduction Suturing Quality Gain [+M]
