Three-tier train-the-trainer professional development cascade through school networks¶
Design · All designs

Description¶
A district-scale professional development delivery pattern in which each school network sends experienced teachers to full-day district-sponsored sessions three to four times per year; these teacher facilitators "replicated these sessions at network Teacher Leader Institutes," and teacher leaders then share the content with colleagues in their own schools. The district considered this three-tier distributed approach the best way to reach its sizeable workforce. The pattern trades reach for control: the district had less assurance that every teacher received the professional development, and participation levels varied widely across schools.
