Description

The article's constructive model organizes peer observation and feedback in two spells: students are divided into two groups, one giving technical seminars while the other observes. In the first spell observation is unguided; a structured format is then introduced, and in the second spell each presenter is observed by a peer observer using it. Feedback from the second spell is discussed with all participants, and views are collected on its impact. The design lets presenters act on first feedback and receive structured second feedback.

Design Implications

Context

Requirements

  • A structured feedback format must be supplied before the second spell so observers know what to observe and reflect on

Constraints

Target Learners

  • tertiary engineering students in technical seminar courses

Learning Goals

  • technical seminar presentation skills and giving constructive peer feedback
