Description

The paper sketches a wholetheme K-12 classroom in which a broadly based year-long theme frames multidisciplinary, content-laden projects. Within the theme, 'Students engage in an action research cycle of questioning, reflectively formulating problems, creating possible solutions, collecting data, constructing a test of their hypothesized solutions, and reflecting upon the results.' Learning is located in the dynamic reflective process following activity, i.e., reflection-on-action.
