Description¶
Developed by Allen and Kendeou, the ED-AI Lit framework organizes AI literacy into six dimensions: Knowledge, Evaluation, Collaboration, Contextualization, Autonomy, and Ethics.
Components¶
- ED-AI literacy framework: six dimensions of AI literacy for education: The ED-AI literacy framework (Allen & Kendeou, 2024), as adopted and operationalized in this study, conceptualizes educational AI literacy across six dimensions: knowledge, evaluation, collaboration, contextualization, autonomy, and ethics. The article defines knowledge as "Teachers' understanding of fundamental AI concepts, tools, and their applications within educational contexts" and evaluation as the ability to "critically analyze and compare various AI tools for educational purposes." The framework was selected using the IMPACT criteria (Interestingness, Matching, Parsimony, Applicability, Conceptual rigor, Testability) and grounds the TAILS item-to-construct mapping. (Salim Nabhan (2026))
