Description

A Unity-built educational VR game application developed by Friday Joseph Agbo and colleagues for Nigerian higher-education students, using three computational-thinking mini games and real-time competency logging.

Components

  • iThinkSmart VR game-based application with three CT mini games: iThinkSmart is an educational VR game-based application built in Unity (free software, deployable on students' existing smart devices with a low-cost HMD of about 5 US Dollars) to support CT knowledge in Nigerian higher education. As printed, "The mini games contained in iThinkSmart application include (i) River Crossing, (ii) Mount Patti Treasure Hunt (MoPaTH), and (iii) Tower of Hanoi." Each mini game targets CT knowledge units through visualization, and the application computes learners' CT competency in real time using the objective distance model. Table 1 maps each game to algorithmic thinking, recursive thinking, problem decomposition, problem abstraction, and pattern recognition. (Friday Joseph Agbo et al. (2023))
