Description

A longitudinal database built by WestEd for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education linking grantee K–3 early literacy universal-screening scores with SIMS, MCAS, ACCESS for ELLs, and school- and district-level data.

Components

  • Massachusetts early literacy screening assessment longitudinal database of grantee K–3 screening, SIMS, MCAS, and ACCESS data: WestEd, on behalf of DESE, is building what the report calls "a longitudinal database of early literacy assessment scores" linking student-level early literacy universal screening data from state grantees with SIMS, MCAS, and ACCESS for ELLs records and publicly available school- and district-level data. For 2020/21 and 2021/22 it includes benchmark scores for just over 35,000 unique K–3 students from 43 districts and 159 schools, about 10 percent of the state's K–3 population, across 11 screening assessments.
