Description

A curriculum of water-education activities developed and distributed by the Project WET Foundation for use by educators in many settings.

Components

  • Rotating small-team science stations for cooperative inquiry: Unit 2 organizes inquiry as four hands-on science stations (shaping the zone; water quantity and soils; water quality and plants; land uses) that small teams rotate through. "The group should be divided into 4 or more teams. Team sizes should be small (5 or less)." Stations are set up in advance, clearly marked with titles and Action Guide page numbers, and divided into separate activity areas with materials for each activity. Through science inquiry and cooperative learning, teams explore riparian components and functions. (Reilly et al. (2008))
