Description

A self-report assessment used to measure students' self-regulation, including self-monitoring and knowledge-acquisition strategies, administered before and after instruction.

Components

  • Survey of Learning Behaviors as the measure of self-regulation strategies: The Survey of Learning Behaviors is one of the study's instruments, listed in the Method chapter alongside the achievement test. It was used to measure students' self-regulation, which in this study "involves the students' self-monitoring and knowledge acquisition strategies," showing "the extent to which students can use the strategies for studying, how well they can understand the concepts they are studying, and how often they will check and correct their understanding of these concepts." It was administered at pretest and posttest to both treatment groups. (Pasana Chularut (2001))
