Description¶
A University of Limburg self-report instrument in which students rate time spent and perceived mastery across intended course topics to measure actual self-directed learning activities.
Components¶
- Topic Checklist (TOC) for measuring students' actual self-directed learning activities: The Topic Checklist is an instrument developed at the University of Limburg to measure what students actually study during self-directed learning. It "consists of a list of topics specifying the intended course content". Students rate on a five-point Likert scale how much time they spent studying each topic and their degree of mastery, allowing researchers to compare actual self-study with student-generated learning issues. (Dolmans et al. (1994))
