Description

UbiTrail is a generic trail-management model and architecture developed by Silva et al. for storing, querying, and providing services over context-aware activity histories.

Components

  • UbiTrail model for generic trails management, chosen over Life Annotation, PELEP and Hong et al.'s mechanism: UbiTrail (Silva et al. 2010) is the trail-management model MultCComp adopts for its past dimension. A trail is a sequence of ptrail registers with attributes entity, resources, event, extension and location, based on the UbiTrail ontology; its architecture comprises a UbiTrailServer storing trails and providing basic and specialized services, and a UbiTrailClient running on users' mobile devices. The article compares it with three alternatives: 'Life Annotation ... does not standardize the trails information, which makes it difficult to query them'; PELEP 'does not support generic trails management'; and Hong et al.'s mechanism 'does not support the creation of services to query the trails'. (João H. Rosa et al. (2015))
