Description

The framework describes the child as "the artifact creator who makes autonomous judgments and applies nonlinear processes when constructing artifacts" and organizes computational making into five dimensions: aesthetics, creativity, constructing, visualizing multiple representations, and understanding materials. This study adopted it as the analytical lens for coding facilitators' fieldnotes, triangulated with artifacts and video, and reported findings under each of the five dimensions.

Accounts

  • Computational making framework (Rode et al., 2015) with five dimensions as an analytical lens for children's e-textile projects: The framework describes the child as "the artifact creator who makes autonomous judgments and applies nonlinear processes when constructing artifacts" and organizes computational making into five dimensions: aesthetics, creativity, constructing, visualizing multiple representations, and understanding materials. This study adopted it as the analytical lens for coding facilitators' fieldnotes, triangulated with artifacts and video, and reported findings under each of the five dimensions. (Ioannou et al.
