Description

The article describes concept network analysis (aka knowledge structure analysis) as a method for measuring multiple document integration by converting students' learning products, such as summary essays, into networks with nodes representing core concepts and edges representing semantic relationships. Quantity of integration is the proportion of integrative links, semantic quality is the similarity of integrative links to an expert referent network, and structural quality is graph centrality similarity (GCsim) to the expert network form. The article uses this approach to evaluate how reading purpose and expert networks influence integration.

Accounts

  • Concept network analysis as a measure of multiple document integration quantity and quality: The article describes concept network analysis (aka knowledge structure analysis) as a method for measuring multiple document integration by converting students' learning products, such as summary essays, into networks with nodes representing core concepts and edges representing semantic relationships.
