Description

A student's answer is characterized in terms of completeness and accuracy, yielding five categories: Incomplete-Accurate (IncAcc), Incomplete-Inaccurate (IncIna), Complete-Inaccurate (ComIna), Complete-Accurate (ComAcc), and Superfluous (SF). An answer is complete if all nodes of the correct answer appear in the student's answer; it is accurate when all its nodes are correct. The Superfluous category is further split into SF-LG (last node is the goal node) and SF-LNG (last node is not the goal node). This categorization is influenced by the scheme proposed in Fiedler and Tsovaltzi (2003), enriched in terms of superfluity.
