Description¶
A statistical technique described by Stanovich and Siegel (1994) that tests whether a skill is developmentally delayed or deficient by predicting the skill from achievement level and then adding a group contrast. The article states it "does not introduce the possibility of regression artifacts, allows the entire sample to be retained for analysis, and allows for a wide range of achievement levels to be included within a single continuous framework." Here it predicted PPVT vocabulary from SAT-10 comprehension, then entered an SCD/typical-reader grouping variable.
