Description¶
The Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) is "an integrative framework that draws from 33 behavior change theories to characterize and evaluate behavioral determinants of implementation," comprising 14 domains with 84 constructs. In this article the TDF structured the interview guides, the a priori codebook, and the analysis, with determinants such as beliefs about consequences, knowledge, skills, social influences, and environmental context organized under seven themes and visualized in a conceptual framework of caregiver engagement.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Interview and coding instruments designed to cover the 14 TDF domains
Constraints¶
- Applied here to caregiver engagement with a child-nutrition mHealth intervention in western Kenya
Target Learners¶
- Caregivers and healthcare workers implementing Family MUAC
Target Learning Objectives¶
- Understanding behavioral determinants of caregiver engagement with health monitoring practices
