Subclaims¶
Reading the evidence codes
q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r
the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.
This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.
q2 i2 Mixed between-subject ANOVA showed significant group × time interactions on the Joyful-Depressed, Tolerant-Angry, Calm-Aggressive, Cooperative-Oppositional and Autonomous-Dependent scales, with the experimental group scoring higher afterwards. → Robi Kroflič and Helena Smrtnik Vitulić 2015
q2 i2 The largest interaction effects were on Calm-Aggressive (partial η² = .13) and Autonomous-Dependent (partial η² = .12), which the authors characterise as medium effects. → Robi Kroflič and Helena Smrtnik Vitulić 2015

Quasi-experimental equivalent control-group post-test study in a Ljubljana kindergarten; 52 EG and 48 CG children rated by teachers on the SV-O before and after five months of CIEA implementation. The ANOVA interactions were significant, e.g. Calm-Aggressive with "Wilks' Lambda = .92, F = (1,99) = 14.17, p < .01, par- tial h2 = .13", i.e. partial η² = .13, a medium effect size.
"The results of the mixed between-subject analysis of variances indicated statistically significant interactions between the social behaviour scores of the EG and the CG and time on five of the eight basic subscales of social behaviour"
Discussion¶
Learner Variables¶
- Civic Mindedness — outcome: instruction changes it
- Social Awareness and Relationship Skills — outcome: instruction changes it
Related Claims¶
- After CIEA implementation the experimental group scored significantly higher than the control group on Social Competence, Internalising Problems and General Adaptation composite scales — related
- Before implementation the experimental and control groups were equivalent on nearly all social-behaviour scales, differing only on Secure-Anxious — related
- The CIEA did not produce a significant group-by-time difference on the Prosocial-Egotistical basic scale — related
- Trained preschoolers were perceived as improving on the EASE non-ToM social adjustment scale — related
- Experimental-group students improved on all four measured prosocial-tolerance qualities, with the largest gain in courage in upholding position (~20%) and the smallest in independence (~10%) — related
