Reading the evidence codes

q is the design tier, i the impact, n the sample, and the kind with its r the rigour judged within that kind: what each code means.

This claim: no standardized effect is recorded in observations/ for it yet, so no benchmark reading is possible.

q3 i1 Meta-analysis of ten randomized controlled trials found theoretical test scores significantly higher in the TBL group than the PBL group (SMD = 0.37, 95% CI: 0.02–0.73). → Zhang Weilin 2024

Meta-analysis of ten randomized controlled trials (944 participants reported for this outcome) pooling theoretical test scores with a random-effects model due to high heterogeneity (I2 = 80.5%, P < 0.0001). The pooled "SMD = 0.37" favored TBL over PBL. Egger's test showed no publication bias (P=0.606).

"The meta-analysis showed that the theoretical test scores were significantly higher in the TBL group than in the PBL group (standardized mean difference [SMD] = 0.37, 95% CI: 0.02–0.73)"
