Description¶
A Computer Assisted Instruction package developed and validated by the investigator on the IX standard physics unit Work, Power and Energy of the Tamil Nadu State Board syllabus. It served as the treatment (independent variable) in the experiment, delivered in four equal sessions, with embedded tests used to measure students' progressive achievement during the treatment. Teaching points identified for the package also served as the criteria for the achievement test.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Development and validation involving physics lecturers, practicing teachers, computer teachers, and try-out with IX std. students
Constraints¶
- CAI cannot be prepared for all the chapters in the IX syllabus
- All the students cannot study with this method since they need computer in their home as well as in their school
- It is time consuming for low achievers
Target Learners¶
- IX standard students of the Tamil Nadu State Board syllabus
Learning Goals¶
- Learning physics concepts of work, power, energy and sources of energy
