Description¶
The article presents a transferable framework for designing, integrating, and iteratively improving a simulation-based education program (SBEP) focused on clinical reasoning across a full undergraduate physiotherapy degree. It operates through three key features: institutional commitment to simulation as a core teaching strategy, longitudinal curricular integration of CR-focused scenarios, and continuous iterative adaptation. The framework is structured by an adapted ADDIE model and guided by Munari and Jardine's instructional framework, ensuring systematic planning and refinement across academic cycles.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Institutional commitment to simulation as a core teaching strategy
- Alignment of strategic planning, faculty development, and progressive scenario design
Constraints¶
- Adaptation to local organizational, cultural, and regulatory contexts will be required
- The study does not present objective measures of CR or student performance
Target Learners¶
- Undergraduate physiotherapy students
Learning Goals¶
- Clinical reasoning competencies including subjective interview, examination, and treatment planning
