Description

The Mobility Agreement is a plan negotiated and prepared jointly by the home care worker and the elderly client, with the objective of promoting daily exercises such as stand-ups from a chair, balancing exercises and taking the stairs. It is "primarily an embodied agreement that is re-enacted within regular encounters, in joint physical actions and accompanying verbal and gestural exchanges." It is supported by an illustrated booklet graphically describing typical exercises, recorded in the client's care plan, and designed to break the vicious cycle of fear-of-falling by integrating mobility work into daily chores at home.
