Learning Lab: educator pipeline and dissemination initiative for newcomer education¶
Design · All designs

Description¶
Opened in 2017 in partnership with the Reach Institute, the Learning Lab builds educator capacity for newcomer education through "school site visits, professional development workshops, and research projects." It also prepared pre- and in-service educators via two credential pathways: working as a teacher of record with mentoring and coaching, or spending a year as a Learning Lab assistant in a mentor teacher's classroom. In its first year it supported 12 teacher candidates and 1 administrative candidate; 2 years later, 18 teacher candidates and 11 administrator candidates, growth the report says helped the school largely solve its own vacancy problem.
