Ten-week POESPBEE lesson structure: two-part lessons with POE and project stages in weeks 1-5, then one-part project sharing and discussion in weeks 6-10¶

Description¶
The POESPBEE application ran 40 lesson hours over ten weeks. In the first five weeks, lessons had two parts: the first used POE on environmental concepts to draw attention and provide preliminary knowledge, the second implemented PBL stages from group formation through project preparation. In weeks six through ten, "the completed projects were shared, discussed and generalized in the classroom by being supported by POE technique." The teacher guides and monitors while students investigate and produce projects.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- A POE activity document prepared for each environmental issue
- Out-of-school time allocated for project preparation, with groups interviewed and guided
Constraints¶
- The study covered environmental topics within science course time; no separate environmental education class existed in the MoNE curriculum
Target Learners¶
- eighth-grade secondary school students
Learning Goals¶
- understanding environmental problems
- producing solutions to environmental problems
- positive attitudes and behaviors toward the environment
