Description

The article describes PST as the systematic learning and practice of psychological skills, organized in three distinct phases: "education, acquisition and practice phases". In the education phase participants learn the importance of psychological skills; in the acquisition phase athletes learn how to implement the methods with an instructor; in the practice phase athletes devote their own time and effort, completing training in both competition and practice. The study's six-week program followed Weinberg & Gould's phases across twenty-four sessions.
