Description

The article presents reciprocal teaching as an instructional activity grounded in Vygotsky's account of social interaction in classroom dialogue, developed by Palincsar and Brown. It is "a strategy that is based on the dialogue exchanged between the teacher and the students, among students and their peers", in which text is divided into sections and taught through four stages: "summarizing, posing questions, clarifying and predicting", conducted in small cooperative groups led by the teacher, who intervenes only when necessary. The study operationalised this framework in a teacher's guide for the experimental group.
