Description¶
The curriculum is a SCORM-compatible content package delivered through Moodle, chosen because it is open-source and free, with logging capability the author found suitable to map learning habits. It is built on six pillars: "e-learning, the didactic template, the text of the material, the images and the animations, the demonstration programs and the evaluation system", is reachable anytime by any internet-capable device, and is customizable, interactive and multi-media. It covers topics from the human visual model through digitizing, transforms, convolution, morphology, segmentation and image formats.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- An LMS with logging capability suitable to map the learning habits of students, as the article found in Moodle
Constraints¶
- The course is optional, so the design also targets keeping the dropout rate at a very low level
Target Learners¶
- daytime and correspondence university students of digital image processing with a wide range of age, interest, previous studies and motivation
Learning Goals¶
- understanding and applying digital image processing algorithms and their theoretical background using GIMP, ImageJ and MATLAB
Claims¶
- Elearning Material Raises Regular Course Test Scores [+M]
- Elearning Gains Larger Correspondence Course [+M]
