Description¶
The article's experimental treatment followed a fixed sequence of activities built around the songs in Song Time 3: learners first read the lyrics and ask about new words, then listen to the song twice, repeat it part by part, sing along with the music several times, and finally memorize it in groups. The article states "The researchers stopped the song part by part and asked the students to repeat carefully", and that "the students listened to the songs and tried to recognize and copy the intonation and stress in the words and sentences". The teacher did not sing; the recorded music carried the pronunciation model.
