Three-perspective organizational site analysis: systems theory, action science, and change theory¶
Design · All designs
Evidence · no claims cited
Description¶
The monograph analyzes the research site organization from three theoretical perspectives to understand its behavioral relationships, structure, and technology before implementing the language intervention. Systems theory describes the organization as interacting components with a goal-seeking component; action science (Argyris and Schon) examines alignment between espoused theories and theories-in-use; change theory (Eoyang's complex adaptive systems and self-organization quadrants) predicts how organizational agents will react to the intervention. This analysis informed scheduling, ethics review, and staff coordination.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Teachers, administrative staff, and board members were made aware of the intervention to lessen disruptions to the institution's usual functioning
Constraints¶
- The framework is applied to one private Haitian school site and is used for implementation planning rather than tested empirically
Target Learners¶
- Haitian secondary students at the research site
Learning Goals¶
- Successful implementation of mother-tongue math and science instruction
