Description¶
A factorial set of "Twelve different training-film presentations on elementary electricity" combining four review treatments and three sub-titling treatments, each shown to 3 high school classes for a total of 36 classes and 1263 subjects with pre- and post-tests. The design allowed the study to compare massed versus spaced versus no review and sub-titling levels within one experiment.
Design Implications¶
Context¶
Requirements¶
- Pre- and post-tests given to all individuals just before and after the film showings
Constraints¶

- high school students
Learning Goals¶
- elementary electricity content learned from a training film
Claims¶
- Massed Review Greater Learning Than Spaced Or None [+M]
- No Significant Subtitling Differences [+M]
- Spaced Review Similar To No Review [+M]
