Description¶
The program organizes instruction as a five-day weekly cycle: "The first two days of each instructional week are devoted to direct instruction and guided practice activities for the whole class" focused on fluent reading, prosody, and oral comprehension. On the next two days, students reading at or above grade level practice fluency independently while below-grade-level students receive small-group instruction emphasizing phonics and word attack skills; the fifth day is used for assessment-based identification of struggling students and goal setting.
