Description

A validated 17-item, four-factor Likert questionnaire developed by Mahmoodarabi et al. to measure Iranian EFL teachers' awareness of critical language pedagogy.

Components

  • Validated 17-item, four-factor Critical Language Pedagogy questionnaire for EFL teachers: The researchers developed a Critical Language Pedagogy questionnaire from a review of 89 articles and book chapters and prior instruments, using a six-point Likert scale. After piloting with 47 teachers and item analysis, the final validated version contained 17 items in a 4-factor solution: incorporating dialogue and learners' real life, liberatory autonomy, a critical approach to EFL classroom content, and decision making through negotiation. Cronbach's Alpha demonstrated "a reliability of .825", and factor loadings "ranged from .317 to .699". (Mahmoodarabi et al. (2015))
