- Gapminder simple interface for exploring open data: Gapminder is a simple interface to open data used by interviewees A and J in their teaching, providing simple ways to compare data about countries over time. The article reports educators "highlighting how simple interfaces to open data, such as Gapminder (2018), were instrumental their work", and Figure 1 shows the Gapminder interface as used by J. It exemplifies the theme of tools that support learning with open data, valued for representing data and guiding discovery, and illustrates how tool choice can simplify and scaffold learning with open data.
